(The lyrics for this song were originally to be another fantasy-based and subtly dream-influenced goblin supremacy anthem, much like 2014’s Crineiga. However, during a discussion with my dear friend and partner in arcane study Ryan “Orc” Zybert, we began digging deeper into the possible origin of Orc/Goblin mythos. Travelers disappearing in the woods. Crops withering. Murdered children. Did the frequency of these unsolved events in the 16th-19th century (when such tales were compiled) give rise to their attribution to impish entities in the stories? Or did the long standing folk tales of these entities inspire the real life murderers and vandals whose deeds have been recorded in this fashion? In other words, “what came first, the murder or the legends?”)
