Sometimes I look into the sun and see myself Sometimes I look into myself and see the sun Sometimes I see the face of god in my mundane life And I assign my mundane life to the highest one The formless has been given its eyes And it has come to no one’s surprise That even now my desire to perceive Has allowed this very force to deceive If I convince myself over and over The sky’s the limit for what I can uncover I draw the knife out and cut my face free And force it onto the world around me This is merely a projection of man And they will make it so whenever they can The whole of nature is a looking glass But we are still the first in line to pass If I can build it then so must it be Then this whole world is beholden to me I always conquer what I choose to create Or is my creation what I imitate? Imposition Inquisition Explanation Infestation Oh, why Does the real world deceive my eyes? Oh why Can’t they hear the desperate lies? Perhaps the world has lost its fun That’s why I look into the sun.

I saw beneath me on my path one day Tiny drops of blood that led the way I took my compass and every map I knew I sought its origin and mean to see this through Who knew when in the course of fate The path became the purpose of my life Before me ghosts of those I thought were mine My identity balanced on the point of a knife I followed trails unto the conifer line What came before has since failed to define It was a miracle these woods have let me pass Through this grove of bones and all-ensnaring grass I found my treasure in a deeply hidden trove On the bright side of the dark apparent grove The cross and hammer both have fallen from me I’ve seen the forest through the ancestral tree I descended from these phantoms lost to time Here I stand and there’s no doubt that I’m alive Branches traced have simply disappeared in Pines In these veins the blood that is no one’s but mine

In your midst they walk In your tongue they speak Know that as you live It’s your undoing they seek Oh, how words of gods Can set the pyres ablaze Oh how the letters of light Can quench the sun and end your days Bend your knee Bow your head Whet your knife Follow me Cast aside your doubt Leave behind your thought Never hope to ask We shall want for naught All that you must do Is pay my spirit fee And all who hesitate Bring them forth, kill them in front of me Bend your knee Bow your head Whet your knife Follow me I am the word made flesh Brace yourself for another flood I am no more or less than you Take my life, and you shall drink your fill of blood

don’t keep no mirrors in the forest where I roam For someone cursed as I am it’s best to walk alone Can’t bear my own reflection nor reflect on what I am I never seemed o be a fit for the company of man Have you wondered what it feels like when the skin you wear is hell? I you saw in you what I see in me you would bathe in tears as well! Don’t wanna leave the shadows on any lovely day I pray the sap of these hemlocks come and wash my tears away I ain’t been so scared and lost since I seen what I become But there won’t be that much left of me when the tears they start to come I don’t keep no mirrors in the forest where I roam For someone cursed as I am it’s best to walk alone Can’t stomach any sympathy, don’t need you to be kind Maybe I can drown my body for a chance to save my mind?

We were lost in the forest Swallowed by the trees Hunted by the shadows Weaving their path with the wings of the breeze We’ve given into our fear After leaving the daylight behind Fodder for wraiths and monsters Sprung from the well of our minds Hanging From the ground By a black noose Into the air Screaming After us This wood is ours And ours alone *In a swirl of black and green The moonlight vanished overhead We are blind and motionless Upon a road kept by the dead Captive of the morbid haze Insensate to the ghostly truths Warnings in a living picture The Lady of the Noose “This wood is ours and ours alone!” She was lost in a vision Portents of a time long past The hornet’s poison entered our dreams And the spriggan’s spell was cast In a land Of shapeshifters Fleeing down The churchyard road “this forest became a field of scaffolds in a reliquary of defeatists dreams Where the hornets nested in the charnel house and nothing else is what it seems” Flee, you foolish things Flee our burial knolls Flee, never return! Flee the hive of souls!

There is no sweetness In spring’s nocturnal wind Everywhere, A wall comes down, nowhere to go but on What must be done Leave your blame behind Don’t look below, the water’s deeper than you can surmise Breathe deep, lie still Feel the equinox caress Transform, transcend beyond the grounds you stand upon Ice stills the waves Cold aperture undone Let crescent moonlight through to light what I despise Take now these cares Relics rusted for my sake I hope you know what now awaits, the war is far from won Perhaps a day will come When in your victory The way shines from behind your eyes like the sunrise
